I highly recommend a tour of Windhoek and its surroundings to gain insight into the rich indigenous cultures and colonial heritage that only a local can truly impart. From the historic Lutheran Christuskirche (Christ Church) to the bustling open market in Katutura township, encounters with the welcoming Himba people, the Independence Museum, and of course, the beer—these highlights were brought to life by my guide, Linda, in a way no tourist guidebook ever could.
